Over the years, since 1995 in Los Angeles, The Sisters have grown from 4 original founding members, to a group of over 35 members today. Becoming a Fully Professed Member takes hard work, dedication, open-hearted compassion, a desire for community service and a whole lotta crazy!

We are an Order of 21st Century Nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration.

More simply put: we make people happy, stamp out guilt brought on by a judgmental society and help various organizations and charities, etc .... Our goal

Q: What is it you people do?

A: We organize a variety of events where we raise funds for charitable organizations as well as providing fun, laughter, and a premium sexual outlet for aficionados of grease paint and pubic glitter. The charities we serve might be AIDS service / education providers, arts / theater groups, gay teen support groups

What does it take to become one of the LA Sisters? The process of becoming a Sister is not an easy aspiration. It takes well over a year to earn your place among The Sisters. Despite the outrageous fun, glamorous life and public notoriety, this is really hard work. Not for the faint of heart...not for the wallflower!

Bio - Sister Ida

Sister Ida Nurse

Sister Ida came to SPI, LA from a history of service with the Imperial Court. Her royal background has helped her with her duties as a sister. Among the many events Ida has
participated and helped SPI, LA with, probably the most fantastic was her work on the California AIDS Ride as Sister Ida.

Other nuns have slapped on white face and done the ride as well. No matter, it is a difficult and trying task even without having to put on sister face.

Ida has had manyhealth struggles that have made the already demanding task
of being a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence even more of an uphill battle. Sister Justina doubts anyone in the LA orderwanted to be a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence more thanIda. "She has given so much of herself under such a heavyburden and so selflessly that I am humbled when I think of Ida.", Sister Justina said.
