Over the years, since 1995 in Los Angeles, The Sisters have grown from 4 original founding members, to a group of over 35 members today. Becoming a Fully Professed Member takes hard work, dedication, open-hearted compassion, a desire for community service and a whole lotta crazy!

We are an Order of 21st Century Nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration.

More simply put: we make people happy, stamp out guilt brought on by a judgmental society and help various organizations and charities, etc .... Our goal

Q: What is it you people do?

A: We organize a variety of events where we raise funds for charitable organizations as well as providing fun, laughter, and a premium sexual outlet for aficionados of grease paint and pubic glitter. The charities we serve might be AIDS service / education providers, arts / theater groups, gay teen support groups

What does it take to become one of the LA Sisters? The process of becoming a Sister is not an easy aspiration. It takes well over a year to earn your place among The Sisters. Despite the outrageous fun, glamorous life and public notoriety, this is really hard work. Not for the faint of heart...not for the wallflower!

Bio - Sister Fister

Sister Fister

Sister Fister initially used her fist to fight her way through adolescence as a gay boy in the Midwest. She used her fist as a sign of protest for equality (similar to the Black Power Fist, Womyn Power Fist, and Gay Rights Fist). She then used her fist to knock on doors to recruit members for The Tampa Bay Order of The Sisters of Perpetual indulgence, which she founded. But she now mainly uses her fist for pleasure. *grin*

Founding the Tampa Bay Order of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to help the community has been one of Sister Fister's finest moments. The Bay Area needed more awareness, education, humor, and expression. Stepping forward to help make that happen, Sister Fister has found others in the area that had experienced a similar calling. Her Mount Holyoke College schoolmate Jacqueline Eatsasses was the first to volunteer.

As a young lady Sister Fister's role models were Maria Von Trapp, Superheroes, Sally Field, The Cockettes, Calvin Klein Models, strippers, and Sara Lee. Sisterhood seemed inevitable and the best way to incorporate all of her aspirations, well, most of them.

So far, the only trans-sister of the LA Order (trans as in transfer), Fister has found lesbian parents--Sister Erotica and Sister Dixie. She's thrilled to be a resident of LA and looks forward to sharing her fist with many.
