Over the years, since 1995 in Los Angeles, The Sisters have grown from 4 original founding members, to a group of over 35 members today. Becoming a Fully Professed Member takes hard work, dedication, open-hearted compassion, a desire for community service and a whole lotta crazy!

We are an Order of 21st Century Nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration.

Q: What is it you people do?

A: We organize a variety of events where we raise funds for charitable organizations as well as providing fun, laughter, and a premium sexual outlet for aficionados of grease paint and pubic glitter. The charities we serve might be AIDS service / education providers, arts / theater groups, gay teen support groups

What does it take to become one of the LA Sisters? The process of becoming a Sister is not an easy aspiration. It takes well over a year to earn your place among The Sisters. Despite the outrageous fun, glamorous life and public notoriety, this is really hard work. Not for the faint of heart...not for the wallflower!

I first came to the sisters by way of Sister Erotica Psychotica. She is a personal friend. I would go to different events with her and see the sisters. She was not a sister at the time but was becoming one. So I started attending the board meetings about 6 1/2 years ago. I found that the sisters were the kind of organization which believes in helping our community and also being creative. I agreed with their mission of doing away with guilt and spreading joy among people. So after about a year and half, I considered becoming a sister. However because of the amount of time required, Sister Buffy and I decided it was best if I became a guard. That basically means I help the sisters so they can assist the public at events. Also during this time I found an interest in photography and through taking different pictures of the sisters, have been able to expand my art.
